RSS

RSS is an acronym for the following; Really Simple Syndication and Rich Site Summary. RSS is a family of web feeds which is written in XML (extensible mark-up language).

RSS feeds have been widely used by major news organizations such as the BBC, Reuters and CNN since the year 2000. Many bloggers also use RSS to make others aware of their newest entries.

WAV

WAV (or Wave) is short for Waveform audio format.
WAV files are normally uncompressed. WAV was released by Microsoft and IBM and has been the standard for most sounds on windows based PC’s

If we were to compare the size of a WAV file and an mp3 file of the same recording, the WAV file can be up to ten times larger than the mp3 file.

WAV is known for its ability to record at high quality rates which can be better than the quality on a CD. The highest quality of a WAV file is 16 bit or 44.1kHz. Since the advent of file sharing on the internet, wav has become unpopular due to its immense size when transferring files. Smaller file formats have become popular due to their speed of transfer and smaller space consumption.

AIFF
AIFF (or Audio Interchange File Format)
AIFF was co developed by Apple Computer in 1988 and is an improvement of the Electronic Arts Interchange File Format (IFF). It is mostly used on Apple Mac Computers. It can be mono or stereo with sample rates up to 48kHz. Just like the WAV file, AIFF files are also uncompressed and are compatible with quick time. AIFF files use up about 10MB of disk space for the production of one minute of stereo audio. These files are also a favorite standard for a lot of professional musical hardware.
MP3
MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3 also referred to as MP3
The MPEG acronym stands for Moving Picture Experts Group. However this technology was developed by The Fraunhofer Institute in Germany and then standardized by MPEG.
MPEG Layer 3 is audio file compression technology used to transfer audio material over the internet and o also store on portable devices. It is able to scale down the size of regular audio files on a ratio of up to 12:1 without any noticeable loss of audio quality. It is also a streaming audio format which makes it very popular. It was originally developed to be used with film or video.

Search engine optimization

Search engine optimization is simply the method by which web pages are edited so that they comply with the current requirements of popular search engines such as Google, MSN, Yahoo, Alta Vista and many others.

Building a web site is not the enough if you want to make sure that the site is noticed by the search engines. The site will need to be managed and updated regularly if you want it to rank well with the search engines.

Most search engines send out small programs called spiders to visit and crawl through the content of web sites on a regular basis. They look for many important factors concerning web sites such as;

  • How many relevant inbound links are there on the internet that refer to this site?
  • The amount of pages and the type of content.
  • The density of related keywords stuffed in the pages and the meta tags.

It is therefore not by luck that many web sites rank high and have high amounts of traffic. All types of statistics are collected by serious web campaigners through the use of such tools as cookies or server side databases, so as to make sure that every web page is not merely eye catching, but you will also need to get as much natural clicks as possible. To accomplish this, you must make your site more text based rather than image based unless your site is an image biased portal.

To make sure all this happens, we spend that time keeping your site competitive and search engine friendly through our monthly systems of management.
